What is CPIC

CPIC is the Construction Project Information Committee, responsible for providing best practice guidance on the content, form and preparation of construction production information, and making sure this best practice is disseminated throughout the UK construction industry.

Who are we

The Committee is formed from representatives of the major industry institutions which ensures that the guidance we provide has a solid foundation within all branches of the industry.

Current project

The industry requires changes in the way building information is presented.

• Building information models (BIM) allowing the life cycle of a building to be planned.
• Revisions to costing information at different stages of the project.
• Ways of compiling specifications for different methods of procurement.

A common classification system for all these functions is vital. CPIC have set up a working group to review and develop Uniclass. Proposals will be published on this website for comment.
